Was feeling a bit under the weather so didn't get up to much today. Visited Malmaison however, the home of the Bonapartes in the time Napoleon seized power. It was interesting to see the difference in the styles of the rooms he designed (which all looked like military tents) and the rooms designed by his wife Jospehine (which looked like miniature Versailles rooms).
Fun fact of the day: the little boy in the painting of Napoleon's coronation didn't actually attend the event. He was Napoleons step-grandson, asked to be included in the painting by Napoleon as a way to indicate who should inherit the throne should something happen to him.Read more
