Interesting fort. One of several that were responsible for Charleston Bay defense. Sumpter gets all the glory (see in photos), but this fort served well (especially in the revolutionary war).

Fort McAllister

This was a confederate fort, outside of Savannah, which was bombarded by union forces on a constant basis.
