Big old oak immortalized in Longfellow's poem, Evangeline. Gordon really wanted to see it because if it was big THEN, just think how big it would be NOW!!

To get an idea how big it is, look for Gordon in the first photo. Then imagine how big the really big ones are because Gordon was disappointed at how puny it was. California redwoods have NOTHING on the live oaks in Southern Louisiana!!Read more
