Guthrie Oklahoma

What a total surprise Guthrie is. They have a vibrant downtown in lovingly restored historic brick and stone buildings.

We had lunch at Stacy's Cafe with a gorgeous pressed tin ceiling and murals on the wall. The waitress was worried we would not have enough onion rings to share, so she brought us a giant plate full in addition to those by our sandwich. We ordered a cup of bean soup, which was actually a BOWL of beans, and our waitress was adamant you couldn't have beans without cornbread, so she brought us a complementary piece each. Good grief. We couldn't eat half our food. Fortunately, the waitress seemed understanding when we said we were too full for dessert. I was worried I would have to order some so as to not hurt her feelings.

We also headed up to Stillwater after Guthrie, but have no photos. Seemed like a nice town, but a little isolated for us.もっと詳しく
