A happy reunion

Today we braved holiday traffic to meet with our friends and financial gurus Donna and Casey in Uptown Atlanta. We had a great, upbeat meeting. Casey congratulated us on reverting to our hippie days, rambling aimlessly across the country in our modern-day equivalent of the VW Bug. We confirmed that we could afford to settle down should we ever decide we wanted to.

They took us out to Chops, a wonderful steak house where none of us had steak. Three of us had the most decadent sandwich: breaded fried Maine lobster BLT with a house-sized pile of hand-cut fries. Donna had a lean and elegant dish of poached fish in a ginger tamari sauce on a bed of greens. But my admiration and awe at her restraint was relieved when she ordered a giant piece of cheesecake to go. The rest of us demurred on dessert as we were concerned about fitting through our respective car doors as it was.
