• Drive to Loch Ness

    We drove down to the south side of Loch Ness hoping to get a sight of Nessie. Also, no luck. The road we took was called General Wades Military Road. It was built in the early 1700s to assist in the suppression of the Jacobite rebellion. The road was built to a standard width of 16 feet where possible, but no less than 10 feet. While the road surface is no longer made of stones, the width has not been changed.Read more
