Oregon Trail Vieux Crossing

We think the credit card debacle may be a blessing in disguise. On our way back from the Oz Museum, we came across this intriguing sign.

Heck, it was only 20 minutes out of our way (40 total) to take a gander at the original site of the Vieux Crossing. Really, it wasn’t much to look at, but we were there where countless brave and determined souls had crossed the country against incredible odds for a chance at a better life. The Vieux Crossing wasn’t much even at the time, only a toll bridge over a river, but thousands chose to pay the toll rather than ford the river.

We were reminded this is HOW we want to travel, not racing from place to place.Leggi altro
