Second largest inland lake in California and it's mostly dry. But oh so beautiful. Wish photos captured the colors that we actually saw.

Because it's a DRY lake. Apparently that's a thing in California. If you look at a map they show a lake and call it Eagle Lake!

ПутешественникThanks for reminding me of that site. We've been to a few places mentioned on that show, and they never disappoint. This place was so unassuming, but the food was wonderful. The cranberry sauce on my turkey sandwich was the raw cranberry relish made with whole oranges. I couldn't have made better.

The word "awe" comes to mind. The landscape dotting this part of the country - NV, AZ, UT, and NM - leaves me in awe. The wonderful world of geology. Wish I knew more about it. It was my one and only favorite science class in college. Yikes! That was so long ago that by now I could considered a geologic formation!
