    buarbreen is a glacier in ullensvang. it is an offshoot of the large folgefonna glacier. the small glacial arm reaches down into the buerdalen valley, just 6 kilometres southwest of the town of odda. the glacier is split into two parts, one on either side of a small mountain peak. both sides drain into the jordalselvi river which flows out through the valley into the lake sandvinvatnet. some years ago, when i visited buarbreen with my son you where able to walk right to the glacier, it took about 2 hours. this time the last bridge was closed. i had the strong feeling that they want to sell their glacier tours because if you book a tour, passing this bridge is not a problem...Read more
