Mandawa

Mandawa is a town located just 29 km from Jhunjhunu city in Rajasthan.

We strolled through the town, visited one of the old houses, and then... it started to rain. It's a good thing I had an umbrella with me to protect myself from the sun, because it's actually an rain umbrella, pink, of course.

Mandawa is known as the "Open Art Gallery" as a whole. During the 18th century, Mandawa was a key stop for wealthy merchants travelling the Silk Road. The majority of them chose to build their homes in this town, resulting in the creation of a plethora of exquisitely crafted large Havelis. Many Bollywood films like PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil among others are shot here.Read more
