Casa del Conde de las Cinco Torres

    November 11 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

This building is the most outstanding private building in Conil and was built in 1779 by Don Sebastián Sánchez Franco, Count of the Five Towers, a merchant of the Indies in the city of Cádiz, and a native of this town.

At that time, summer residences were fashionable among the bourgeoisie, hence the number of houses of this style in the area.

Baroque in style, it resembles the houses of Cadiz, having a cistern to collect rainwater, something unusual in this town, as most had a well.

In Conil it is known as "Casa del Peoro" the “House of Worst” of D. Diego Muñoz Rodríguez, wealthy owner who in 1859 bought the house from D. José Luis Feduchy y Martí, Count of the Cinco Torres at that time.
