Kerameikos Museum

Walking distance from the Parthenon to the west is Kerameikos. Kerameikos was considers the most important cemetery of ancient times. The location was used as a cemetery as far back as 2500 BC, and was used by many later generations. The antiquities in the museum -which is a small structure on the site of the cemetery -are almost all grave markers and religious offerings.
