Stafilos Beach

Located about 4 kilometers from Chora is Stafilos Beach. The beach is organized with beach chairs and there is a little Cafe serving refreshments. The surrounding area is typical of Skopelos ' beauty, with stone cliffs, pine trees, and blue-green water. The beach is named for Stafilos, one of Dionysos' sons. Stafilos comes from the Greek word for grapes. Dionysos was worshipped on Skopelos in antiquity, ever since the ancient Minoans colonized the island and brought grapes and olive trees about 1600 BC.Leia mais
