Via Alpina, Melcheese Frutt to Meiringen

Second day of hiking, first day for our two groups to split up. But not before conquering the first giant climb 3 miles to 7,000+ feet together! Through cows and up the mountain we climbed together to see a glimpse of eternity on the other side! Glaciers so large, valleys so deep, views to the end of the world! So proud of this whole group to make it to the top!
Then it was good-bye as Gloria led her group back and my group pressed on to complete about 7.5 more miles to Ruiti to catch the tram to Meiringen. We had dropped about 3500’ of elevation and our legs were done. The Park Sauvage Hotel greeted us and we enjoyed a great dinner at Sherlock Holmes’ Corner followed by a meringue dessert in honor of the town that claim to have invented it.Read more
