    As an act of passive resistance, those opposing the newly formed Nazi party would avoid passing in front of the Feldherrnhalletake where they were expected to salut as they passed, and took an alternate route around the monument using the Viscardigasse alley.  The narrow road soon became known among the locals as the “Drueckebergergasse,” roughly translated as “Shirker’s Alley” or “Deserter’s Alley.
