Day 0

Two long flights with Virgin Atlantic via London to Miami ahead.
I'm a bit nervous.....
Maybe my planning was a bit ambitious.

Day 1 : Miami

We all made it 🙌🙌🙌
Day 2 : At Sea

Day 1 at Sea is the perfect way to press the reset button and reconnect.
Nowhere to go, nowhere to be, nothing to do, no connectivity
Margaritas and beer pong.....🍹
Day 3 : Roatan Honduras

Great day on your 1st shore excursion. ROATAN Honduras.
Snorkelling was superb.
Day 4 : Belize

2nd day on the Islands.
Woke up before dawn and spend time on the balcony just looking at the sunrise.
Snorkel of the 3nd largest reef.

Day 5 : Costa Maya

A laid back day on the beach.
Lovely village 40min walk from the harbour.
Tequila is the name of the game. 😵
Day 5 : Teppanyaki Restaurant

The big dining experience....😁
The video and photo's can not do justice to the experience.
Day 6 : Cozumel

We did the Ferry ride to mainland over a choppy ocean ...... lots of long green faces but worth the trip.
Xcaret Ecopark was worth the effort

Day 7 : Day at Sea

The weather decided to spoil the day.... but if you are going to loose a day them maybe the day at sea is not the worst one to loose.
Lunch was Asian at Food Republic over looking the 5m swell.

Day 8 : Maimi to Colombia

Last day with the family. We are all going our seperate ways...........

Day 9 : Colombia Barranquilla

The flight from Miami to Panama was over booked but they managed to changed our flight directly to Barranquilla.
Landed same time and then had to deal with the system to get us to the hotel.

Day 9 : Santa Marta

Santa Marta is a typical coastal town.
HOT, humid and smelly.
We met up with the G Adventures team.
Interesting crowd from 7 different countries.
Day 10 : Hiking Machete Pelao

3 hour 4x4 transfer to Machete Pelao, where the trek to the Lost City of Teyuna began. Left Machete Pelao and trekked through the jungle along the Buritaca River. Passed by some farmlands and geenLæs mere
Day 10 : Caida A Otro Nivel

1st night with a communal camp. Lots of mosquitos and the local friendly Tarantula. 😆
Day 11 : Wiwa Camp

Easy morning walk but the camp is a challenge. At least it has a great water hole with a 5m jump.

Day 12 : Teyuna Paraiso Camp

Xmas day.
Nice steady 8km hike.
Camp is much better with us all sleeping in hammocks.
I felt like the pigs in the photo at Wiwa camp. Crowded and filthy.
Day 13 : Lost city - Ciudad Perdida

A long, long day. Started the morning with the 5km ascend to Ciudad Perdida by crossing the river and climing the 1200 steps.
The city is huge. +- 2000 terraces of which 100 are cleared.

Day 14 : Hike & 4x4 to Santa Marta

The last day of hiking was a slog. 17km downhill but the previous nights rain turned all the roads into a mud wrestling championship.

Day 15 : Cartagena

Spend the morning in a tour bus to Cartagena. Its is immediately obvious why this is the jewel of Colombia.
Small, interspersed streets with quaint shops and lots of tourists.

Day 16 : Cartagena

Back to Getsemani for a day tour of the street art.
Visited the biggest Spanish Forte in South America and listened to the incredible story.
Sun set.......... Cafe del Mar.....where else.
Day 17 : Naples

Day 19 : Transfer back home : Top 10
