    Trogir

    June 15, 2020 in Croatia

An interesting day - left Trogir and went to an island called solta on our way to Milna where our boat was moored over winter as we need to replace something called an anode. We look up the various little bays with a tool called Navily which rates the bay from wind and swell protection and gives pictures. Well we chose Sesula and then we made our first mistake. On our way in to drop anchor a local on a dingy sped over to tell us we would be better protected on a bouy and there was a nice restaurant we could look at. Very friendly. So we followed him and tied up. He then started demanding a time we would go to the restaurant and I started feeling uncomfortable. We went over later when we went for a walk and looked at the menu. A coke was R60. We went back to the boat and cooked food. We are not on holiday we are living so there is no money for luxury. At 7.40 he came on his boat to demand we go eat. Kevin told him I was resting and he said we would be lucky if he did not cut our rope and we don’t know what the Croats are like. We promised to eat there tonight. This morning we got up at 5 for a quick run on the beautiful island and left the bay. Was not a great experience but lesson learned. Nothing for nothing.Read more
