• 🦭Seal Sandbank "Hohes Riff"

    June 27, 2010 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

This day offered a very special nature experience – the seal bank called “Hohes Riff.” Many seals live here off the coast of Borkum in their natural habitat. Even the trip there was a highlight with beautiful views across the North Sea. On the sandbank, numerous seals were resting peacefully in the sun. Some slowly moved toward the water while others curiously watched their surroundings. It was especially impressive to see the animals completely free in nature. The calm atmosphere out at sea made the excursion even more memorable. Again and again, the seals could be seen gliding elegantly through the water. At the same time, we learned more about the protection of these animals and their habitat in the Wadden Sea. The seal bank is one of the most fascinating natural places around Borkum. The combination of sea, sandbanks, and wildlife created unforgettable impressions. A wonderful excursion into the natural beauty of the North Sea.
