The Mediterranean Biome at Eden Project

From the Rainforest Biome, we went to explore the Mediterranean Biome which has displays reflecting the landscapes of the Mediterranean Basin, California, South Africa 🇿🇦, and Western Australia 🇦🇺. These areas have hot, dry summers ☀️ and cool, wet winters. The native plants 🪴 here have evolved to cope with harsh conditions. They exhibit immense diversity. From extraordinary grass trees to flamboyant proteas and mighty aloes; through fertile grapevines and gnarled old cork trees to deliciously scented orange 🍊 blossom; here lies a feast for the senses in any season.

We were particularly interested in seeing the South African displays. They gave us an idea of what to expect when we get there in May 😀.Leggi altro
