Back to Huaraz

We drove down the mountain the same way we had come up, stopping for lunch on the way. We had worked up quite an appetite with our high-altitude walk. The lunch portions were huge and very tasty.

We had one more stop before reaching Huaraz. This was at an artisanal ice cream shop where we both had a small sample!

We were dropped off at Jo's place at 7.30pm. It had been a very long day, but so enjoyable!! We spoke to those who had been to the glacier today. Half of them were unable to complete the hike to the face of the glacier and were still feeling the effects of being at such a high altitude. We had definitely made the right choice today! We decided to cancel the glacier trip for tomorrow and spend the day in town instead.Läs mer
