Date night in San Luis Potosi

One of the highlights of the ride from Austin to Mexico City was visiting San Luis Potosi. Back in the 1960's, when I was a little girl, we took the family car through Mexico.

I was so impressed by the restaurant we went to in San Luis Potosi. We were to wear our very best clothes - Pop in a suit with a handkerchief in his breast pocket; Mom in a dress that accentuated her beauty.

Walking through the maze of cobbled streets, looking to find the restaurant in an exotic area called a pedestrian zone and Pop getting a little stressed.

Finally, we arrived. Pop ordered something exotic called a Caesar salad. I was captivated. The salad was prepared at our table. How sophisticated.

It is a bittersweet memory for me - it was to be our last family vacation. Our parents divorced a year and a half later.En savoir plus
