Castello dei Vide

For centuries, Castelo de Vide was home to a thriving Jewish community. Its 14th-century synagogue, one of Portugal's best-preserved, survived the expulsion of Jews in 1496 and continued to serve as a secret place of worship and learning for converted Jews.
