Great peek into Great Basin NP

After surviving my motel/casino fail, I headed out to Great Basin NP what I thought was a little early. Turns out that there is no entrance gate so I was able to get a jump on the Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive. And what a scenic drive it was! I had the hair pin turns and wildlife on the road all to myself on the way up. I'd show you pictures, but this was a both hands on the wheel trek. The summit is 10,000 feet...super pretty! I did a short hike and had breakfast by a lovely little stream.

After the drive, I headed for the Visitors Center because you can never have too many NP shirts. I was lucky enough to score a last minute ticket for the next Lehman Cave tour and off I went into the deep (well...not really so deep but just go with it, k?). Very cool cave decorations and a small group of bats - what's not to love?!Læs mere
