Today is a holiday in Greece, its Clean Monday (Kathara Deftera) it’s the first day of Great Lent in the Eastern Orthodox Church. We made the most of it, by walking over to the Acropolis Museum. Pretty cool, as it is built inside to recreate the original. Lots of remnants of the structure on display. Great movie in there as well, explaining the conquest of various empires, and how the Parthenon was systematically dismantled / destroyed based on religion and battle.Baca lagi

Pengembara I took this one inside the museum before I understood that no photos were allowed in the museum. Since I have it, the stainless posts recreate the pillars of the Parthenon, and all the stones are either actual or plaster replicas.
