Jordan, made it, finally

Jordan was the beginning of the end last year. After traveling for 6 months, to over 20 different countries, I was in Cairo when my flight out of Amman was cancelled due to covid. I immediately booked a flight to my next stop, Bahrain, and stayed there a month. Forced to fly back to the US, I have been waiting to get to Jordan for over a year now. I arrived late last night, after a 24 hour delay in Dallas en route. After the Long flight, I thought I would just walk the 2 kms to the hotel. At 11 pm, the temp was fine, but the way was dark. I got halfway to the hotel, and was exiting the check point for the airport, when the security guards called me aside. After 15 minutes of, who are you, and where are you going, they finally said . . . Ok, and pointed me off into the dark. Just looking out for my safety they said.
