Brasilia H3 – Acts of Giving

Day 2 started with an amazing act of giving and kindness. Two weeks prior to the event, it was discovered that Casa Abraco (a school and living facility for abused children) http://casaabraco.com.br/ was in need of a refrigerator and freezer. An announcement was made to the local hashers to collect 3000 Brazilian Real (~$600 USD) to buy a couple slightly, lovingly used models, and within days, 4500 reals were collected, which allowed them to purchase a 540L fridge and a 580L horizontal freezer. With the additional funds they purchased over R$ 1200 in food and hygiene articles. Additional donations included clothes and toys, ice cream for over 100 kids as well as R$2000 in cash.

When the founders of the school came out to Alto Paraiso to be presented with the donations on Saturday morning, there was not a dry eye in the house as the director explained how grateful they were to receive the kind donations.
