We had temperatures in the mid 90s all day, but by hash time the temps had dipped down to a modest 88 degrees . . . and it was damn humid. A pack of about 15 set off in chase of the hare (Hazukashii) up in the Cypress Lakes area north of the Horse Race Track. It appears that there had been much rain in the area recently, as the pack was treated to several large puddles along this nearly 6 mile trail . . . which left plenty of wet feet by trail’s end. When not running through water, the trail was going around water, in the form of several large ponds (or small lakes if you prefer).

Making its way into the forest after the walker/runner split, trail dashed around the first lake and along the powerlines, hopscotching a few puddles and around a fence into the back end of the industrial zone. Then it scampered through some old parking lots, before cutting behind some buildings and around another lake. Passing through Westchester, the pack was delighted to find a beer check . . . followed by a lap around another small pond. Finally crossing the road again, the pack soon found the long 100 meters plus of ankle deep rainwater before turning right and heading down the powerlines and back to the meeting point.

Peas on my Face led a robust circle of misfit children, passing out down downs like it was Christmastime. We had two long lost returns on hand in Pussy on Pops Sickle (POPS) and Mr. Bigglesworth. We also had a couple visitors, and the rest of the usual delinquents. HPV was the FRB as the walkers and runners mingled their way in together, and On-Ahead managed to drive her way to being the FBI. Good times in the hot and muggy Florida western coast . . . in summer. And that’s no bullshit . . . On On. 😊
