Antarctica Adventure - Day 10

Last day for excursions, as we visited Deception Island. Deception Island is a super large volcanic caldera. Listed as still active and has a steam vent, but it has not blown in about 50 years.

We entered through the very narrow Neptune’s Bellows access point, and sailed directly to the other end where some of the passengers went out into the cool windy weather to walk up the side. By noon, we were all back on the ship and headed for the exit as the weather turned sour. We then made another lap around the island on the outside before heading north and back to Argentina.Läs mer
