Returning to Paraguay for my third hash trail, it was a most beautiful day of sunny skies and warm breezes. A pack of 10 gathered at the American Bar PY for a pleasant city trail. I was a bit disappointed at the start, when the rest of the pack were all walkers . . . so rather than run by myself, I loosened the throttle, and mostly had a nice walk.

The trail was very well laid, and we had a few obstacles to negotiate, and there were several interesting sights to see. We even, for the first time in my nearly 40 years of hashing, followed trail through a hospital . . . in the back door, and right out the front. One of the funniest parts was right at the end, as we approached the finish, my Garmin watch clocked it at 9.5 kms . . . and for the Garmin users, you know we had a 10 km challenge this weekend. So rather than go back tomorrow for another 10 kms, I just made a loop and walked around the block to get that extra 500 meters. But as I looked back, half the pack had blindly followed me . . . there is a hash song for that you know.

We wrapped things up with dinner and a circle in the bar, and by this point, the warm sunny day had turned into the frozen tundra. I had to break away and head back to the hotel for a hot shower. Snug in my bed, I can fondly look back at another great day on the hash, On On. Czytaj więcej
