Lima H3 #800

We gathered up about 40 hashers for a journey about 3 hours down the coast from Lima, then inland up towards the mountains to the small town of Lunahuana. We started with a nice lunch for some energy, then checked in to our hotel to get ready to run.

Trail was amazing, not much greenery, but plenty of good shiggy dirt tracks, for a sweet 12 kms of fun. The pictures really tell the story. We finished on a river, and had a fun circle where three harriettes were named, and plenty of other down downs of jocularity. Then it was back to the hotel for showers and clean clothes, in preparation for dinner in town, followed by a celebration party where plenty of adult beverages were consumed.
During the festivities I met someone who is probably the 3rd oldest active hasher in the world . . . Papa Lucho, who is 91 years old, with a date of birth on 14 Aug 1933. He comes in a touch younger than El Picador who will be 93 in May, and Glamour, who will be 92 in May. It is great to see some well seasoned hashers still kickin’ it well into their 90s.

The morning came so quickly, and it was time get dressed for a hangover trail, which the only fault for the weekend, was it was too short, only about 40 minutes. Was looking for at least 8 kms to burn off the excesses of Saturday night, but it all worked out in the end. After showers and clean clothes once again, it was another 3+ hour drive back into Lima.
