Oman H3

There have been 14 hash clubs in Oman, since the first run of the Oman H3 back in 1976. Like many of the expat locations around the world, Oman is a good example of the decline in hashing since the turn of the century. There are currently only two hash clubs in Oman, both in Muscat. The Muscateers H3 that hosted the INTERGULF this weekend, founded in 2023, and the original Oman H3 founded in 1976 (I first hashed in Oman back in 2020 during the early days of COVID, when they were the only hash club here).

It was a classic 2-fer, as the INTERGULF hangover trail went this morning at 1030. After a few hours rest, I was able to join the Oman H3 on their weekly hash trail at 1730. It was an excellent crowd of over 30 hashers (there were about a half dozen runners, the rest enjoyed the walkers trail). After the run, we had a short circle with lots of joking between hashers, then they served up an excellent dinner. They are an extremely friendly pack.
