The general consensus of the pack was that this was new territory for trail, even Bullit stated he had not run around this specific area before. All around it, yes, but not along this particular section of khlong paths and back roads.

It was a B to A run, and an early start to account for the 10-minute pickup truck ride. The walkers got dropped off at one point, and the runners, about 400 meters away. The runners started with a false trail headed out to the water, then a jog down the side of the road back to where the walkers started, so added maybe an additional 750-800 meters. From there, trail snaked along the Chao Phraya for about a km. Then crossing over a lock and into an area around a Buddhist Temple, making a big loop before crossing back over the lock, up the river for a bit, then turning right for the on in.

The circle was as expected, lots of abuse for our visitors from Singapore, along with birthday boy Virginia Slim. Who would go on to host a huge party on Monday, free of charge for a rather extensive selection of tasty things to eat, and all the beer you could handle. All this for turning 70, just wait till he turns 80, like the rest of us.

Dinner was served in an eclectic little place tucked into the area down a little alleyway. There were live rabbit, chickens, and various other animals in a crazy little bio-sphere. Since we were in the glass enclosed dining room, maybe we were the live spectacle for the animals. Stranger things have happened on the Bangkok Hash.
