    Our hostel! So pretty. That's our room through the red door...
    Fellow travelers playing cards in the eating area (college-age British girls).We changed to private room after hearing everyone coughing here! Lovely room.View from courtyard to "kitchen" area, which is also open-air.We arrived at 4:30 am, so we waited until 7:00 here and then had coffee in courtyard.One of the streets off the main square (Plaza de Armas).This is a few doors down and I just thought it was a cool entrance!At night! Also so pretty! There is a bar here as well.Yet another gorgeous church - San Francisco (just a few doors down from us).San Francisco - altarWe ate up on a balcony overlooking Plaza de Armas. Afterwards server took us up on roof for a view!Overloooking Plaza de Armas (lunch)Arequipa Cathedral - HUGE! Have not yet been inside...Beautiful historic library - university students were studying here today.Inside the library - nice courtyard! An old gentleman sitting outside directed us here to admire it!

    Arequipa is beautiful - might be our favorite spot so far. Known as the White City for it's baroque buildings of white volcanic stone built during the colonial era. It's the perfect size - not huge, but plenty of action and beauty. But I don't feel like I'm going to die in traffic here!Read more
