Walking the War-Torn History of Croatia

    September 22, 2023 in Croatia ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

Deanna was our smart, knowledgeable and excellent guide who included personal family experiences in her presentation roughly covering WW1 through the Croatian War of Independence in the 1990s. Photos / videos include entering an extensive system of underground tunnels used as a bomb shelter, the tour group in the tunnel’s “main hall,” and a journalist’s touching and terribly sad interview with a 19-year old Yugoslavian soldier during the recent war - he could have cared less about the war and just wanted to survive and go home to see his Mom. History is so much more real when told by those who lived it in the places where it happened.Read more
