    Getting there

    November 28, 2023 in Argentina ⋅ ⛅ 52 °F

It started with the rude awakening that my itinerary was cancelled so I had to travel from Ushuaia to Rio Grande haha

  • Rio Grande

    November 28, 2023 in Argentina ⋅ 🌬 54 °F

I've had bumpy rides in air, sea, and land..a travel trifecta. Rio Grande was an odd town. Something about it felt unfinished. But the people were kind and imm grateful for flight back up to Buenos AiresRead more

  • Copiapo Surprise

    November 30, 2023 in Chile ⋅ ☁️ 55 °F

I had a tour to go to San Pedro Atacama then Bolivia. I didn't do my research. I should've landed in Calama, not Copiapo. It worked for the best because I do not have a visa for Bolivia anyway. No one would be happy if I get stuck at a border crossing haha.

Copiapo was interesting. I got scammed at the plaza by a beggar but at least I helped a family, right? Also, I bought the prettiest sandals so it all worked out. It made sense even then but in retrospect, it was the best case scenario.

  • Finally in Santiago

    November 30, 2023 in Chile ⋅ 🌙 63 °F

S/o to the LATAM gate agent for getting me on a flight to Santiago the next day. Once you humbly admit that you mess up, people's pity become your comfort and strength lol. My room in Santiago was street side and it sounded like an airport runway. The next day I worked up the courage and the Spanish to request a more interior room. I was once again, a recipient of kindness. Day after was 100% goblin mode for necessary recovery. Better to lose a day than to consistently leak out energy as fatigue earns interest. It worked. I got my itinerary together.Read more

  • San Jose Volcano

    December 3, 2023 in Chile ⋅ ☀️ 43 °F

This hike felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Even if I only found it and booked it the day before 😂 Gorgeous weather, wonderful guides, interesting group, lit roadtrip playlist and that sandwich felt like a pat on the head from angel Gabriel lol. And yes, I thought the goats were baby horses lol. I'm a city girl okay!

At some point in the hike, I was talking to one of the guides, Andres, about the volcano system in Chile, and how some experts think it can be as big as Yellowstone. He said "so we can end the world too" and somehow that was the best thing I heard all tour. Amazing. Viva Chile. This skinny little country is the papercut that can bleed the world dry. Made a few friends today. Highlights include the slide, seals by the fish market, and our lunch table of 4 women agreeing, one by one, that no matter how difficult travel gets, at least we don't have kids 😂😭Read more
