Playa Coronado Panama

This is where a lot of American and Canadian expats buy property to retire. It's a long, beautiful sandy beach that's mostly empty. Most of the huge villas and condos are empty too. Maybe these are all second homes? It was sunny and beautiful the entire time we were here and the water was perfect. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves each time we went.

We loved our little hotel across the street from the beach with an outdoor kitchen. We met lots of nice Panamanians there while cooking and eating. Several times we walked around the neighborhood and were amazed at the size of the villas. You can actually call some of them compounds. Almost all had pools with yard and maintenance staff working all the time on these empty units, although one did have an armed guard out front for the VIP that was inside.
