Diving, Fisherman’s Pier & the evening

🇬🇧| Back on land, one thing was clear: We wanted to spend a day out on the sea together – on the same boat but with different plans.
Since Sonja can’t dive at the moment due to a small handicap and will be snorkelling instead, we wanted Daniel to still enjoy a proper dive. So we needed a dive school on Koh Chang that offers both.

After a few stops, some friendly chats and a quick “Where do we sign?”, we finally found the perfect one – offering diving and snorkelling on the same trip. Mission accomplished.

Since we were already out and about, we continued on to the fisherman’s pier – one of those piers that just never end. At some point we wondered whether we were still on Koh Chang or already halfway to Cambodia.
At the end we found a tiny mini-lighthouse surrounded by fishing boats and all the dive boats on the island.

The view from there was amazing: the sea, the coastline, boats everywhere – and we could even spot our accommodation peeking through the palm trees in the distance. A perfect moment to just pause.

We ended the day with a tasty backyard dinner.
And of course, the evening wrapped up once again on our cozy terrace, beer in hand, chatting with our neighbours. That’s island life done right.

🇩🇪| Zurück an Land stand fest: Wir wollen einen gemeinsamen Tag auf dem Meer verbringen – zusammen auf einem Boot, aber mit unterschiedlichen Plänen.
Da Sonja wegen eines kleinen Handicaps diesmal leider nicht tauchen kann und stattdessen schnorcheln wird, soll Daniel natürlich trotzdem seinen Spaß bekommen. Also brauchten wir eine Tauchschule, die beides anbietet.

Nach ein paar Stopps, einigen netten Gesprächen und einem kurzen „Wo unterschreibt man?“ haben wir dann auch die perfekte Schule auf Koh Chang gefunden – mit Tauch- und Schnorcheltrip in einem. Mission erfüllt.

Weil wir schon unterwegs waren, sind wir anschließend noch zum Fischersteg spaziert – ein Steg, der einfach nicht aufhört. Zwischendurch hatten wir das Gefühl, wir wären vielleicht schon auf halbem Weg nach Laos.
Am Ende wartet ein kleiner Mini-Leuchtturm, umgeben von Fischerbooten und allen Tauchschiffen der Insel.

Der Blick dort war absolut herrlich: Meer, Küstenlinie, Boote überall – und sogar unsere Unterkunft haben wir von weitem zwischen den Palmen entdeckt. Ein richtig schöner Moment zum Durchatmen.

Zum Abschluss gab’s noch ein leckeres Hinterhof-Abendessen.
Und natürlich endete der Abend wieder auf unserer gemütlichen Terrasse, Bier in der Hand, kurzer Plausch mit den Nachbarn – so fühlt sich Inselurlaub an.Read more
