Bandon and the 'Treasures' of the Sea

Laura and Elizabeth had raved about Bandon and it lived up to its reputation. We caught the farmers market and met Dan "the seaweed man", who gave us bags of nutritious and delicious seaweed and told us how to harvest more. We also met many other friendly folks at the market and in town as we deeked in and out of buildings to avoid the cold wind. The Washed Ashore art exhibit was recommended to us, and it was beautiful and informative. Volunteers have been cleaning up local beaches for years and then the artists turn the junk into beautiful art to raise awareness about the cost of disposing of our petroleum products into the ocean.Leia mais
