    A Bounty Without Watering...

    Following Jessie's late grandfather Bear's techniques, Jessie, her son Troy and her parents grow a bounty of fruits and veggies without any irrigation (or rain since California's drought continues). The secret is a garden at the same elevation as the river and farming techniques that encourage plant roots to grow down to the water table while ensuring that soil moisture is not lost to the atmosphere. The results are amazing and delicious! One of the crops included a melon, now patented as the Shively melon that Bear created and Jessie's dad continues to grow and save seeds from.Read more
