Pyramids in the Jungle

After a short morning ride to Palenque, we set up our tent in the El Panchan campground surrounded by hippies and rode our bikes through the park to the sprawling archeological site. Exploring Mayan ruins in a jungle setting with howler monkeys roaring in the surrounding trees made for an enjoyable afternoon, although all the steps of the pyramids and temples sure gave our bike accustomed quads a different kind of work out!Read more
