La Route des Ocres

It was a day of exploring fortified villages and ochre coloured sediments as we followed la Route des Ocres. We enjoyed the weekly market in Gordes, with great samples of olives, spreads, artisanal cheeses and meats (for the carnivores in the family - turns out saucisson is very popular with Claire!). In Roussillon we enjoyed the coloured hills while tasting lavender ice cream. Then the last active ochre mine was a colourful site to see outside Gargas.Read more
