Nice with the Niçois!

In Nice we were hosted by Jean-François and Patricia, climbing friends of Holly's from her stay in the area in 2004. They gave us the full Niçois welcome - appératif (Karl even tried a pastis, of all things!), pisaladière and ravioli for dinner, with local cheeses and wines. Their son Guillaume, who Holly had also known back in the day, also showed up for breakfast with his wife Manon and 6-year old son Lucas. Lucas ended up spending the day with us as Jean-François and Patricia toured us around Nice by tram and on foot. We enjoyed getting introduced to all the local tastes and sights, with an appropriate scattering of park playing breaks in between to satisfy the little people. It was super fun chatting with JF about all the mountain adventures he has done over the years and the ones we did together. And he convinced us that we might need at least a small taste of Italy, while we were so close...Weiterlesen
