Lac du Bourget

Since we'd travelled the high road to get to La Biolle, we decided to explore the shores of Lac du Bourget with Michelle and Michel by bike. The Michels are long-time family friends, who also knew Holly's parents in the university and post-university days, and whose family kept in contact with Holly's over the years with trips in France and a memorable canoe trip in Algonquin Park when the Michels and their daughters visited Canada. It was so nice to get to spend some relaxing days with them and catch up. We were also able to connect with more of the extended family in the afternoon for a goûter (afternoon snack) at the beach with Pauline and two of her kids, Thaïs (10 years old) and Siméon (8), while the third Leane was at music lessons, along with mamie Françoise. We were so busy chatting and swimming, however that we didn't manage to take any photos when we were all gathered together :( After the boys headed to soccer practice, Pauline was our bike guide through Aix-les-Bains, with a quick stop at her house for a drink while we waited for thundershowers to pass.Læs mere
