Double Visit

We had a relatively short ride from La Biolle to Françoise and George's home in Marcellaz-Albanais, but the climb at the end was a good reminder of the climbing to come as we head further into the high cols of the Alpes. Françoise and George and their daughters (Anne-Gaëlle and Pauline, who we'd already managed to see, and Elodie who we are planning to see prior to the end of the trip) were ready adventure companions when Holly's family spent a summer and a few winter vacations in the Savoie region, and it was super fun to be back at their place and connecting with them, further to seeing them at a couple family gatherings over the prior week. They also very kindly extended their hospitality to Karl's university friend Ashley and her husband Théo and baby Elliott, who live in Lyon, and came to visit for the weekend. We had a lovely extended lunch while little ones napped, and toured George's excellent garden.
