Easy Hard Day

We sometimes make plans... researching distances, elevation gain, and places to camp along a certain route. But we are also always open to input about beautiful rides. Which is why after meeting Gisèle's neighbor in Annecy we were persuaded to head through Ugine and Megève to get to Chamonix, instead of riding through a completely different valley. And it turned out to be an excellent choice! We started with a beautiful ride along Lac Annecy, complete with a swim for Claire just before we left the lakeshore. Then we cruised along a rail trail with a tail wind to Ugine, before climbing up through the Gorges de l'Arly to Megève. When we realized that we were quite close to Cordon, and the home of a couple we'd met earlier in the trip, and still had energy despite the long ride, we pushed to their place - albeit with tired legs for the last kilometres of uphill to their house! Candice introduced Claire to the cats, and she was a happy camper as we got settled in. We then enjoyed a beautiful dinner together, along with Candice's daughter Line, with stunning views of Mont Blanc in the background to end the unplanned but amazing day.Baca lagi
