On the move

After getting emergency passports we are finally on our way.
Just checking the beach

We arrived quite late at the hotel, so we didn’t really see where we were. Today we started with a short walk on the beach.
Not your average tourist trap (1)

As we basically drove past it, we thought we’d make a stop at the Red Bull Racing Factory and look at the trophy’s. 352 trophy’s according to Else.
Not your average tourist trap (2)

Just another F1 factory. We didn’t bother to ask if we could go inside at this one.
Not your average tourist trap (3)

And we conclude our unlikely tourist attraction tour with a visit to the Diddly Squat Farm Shop.
We bought some Jeremy’s sausages for the barbecue later that day.

The view from the barbecue

Final stop for today.
We stay over at a friends place, had a barbecue and met some lovely people.
Shropshire hills are just stunning

Today we had an amazing walk in the Shropshire Hills. Perfect company, amazing weather, brilliant landscape.
What a perfect day.
Ludlow Castle

Just enjoying the last day of decent weather if the forecast is correct.
Lake District for today

The forecast was quite horrible, but I haven’t seen a lot of rain yet… there’s other wet stuff though.
Windermere Ferry

The guy on the Ferry said: “Welcome to the Lake District”. I said: “It wouldn’t be the real experience if it was sunny, would it?”. A quick “No” was his reply.
Beautiful roads

Fairy tale like landscapes and beautiful roads.
Mythical roads and streams

Even though it is not perfect hiking weather it is still a nice area to drive through.
Moffat hike

Hiking with locals on trails unknown to tourists.
I won’t tell where, but it was really nice!
Absolute highlight so far

Riding a flamingo in the streaming rain.
Something other than hiking

Tidal hike

Just as the tide had gone ou we could walk where I paddled the kajak earlier.
Morning hike in the sun

Warm and sunny Scotland. A nice surprise.
Ending the day in style

Hike around Gatehouse

We took a “little extra loop” and ended up walking 14,5 km. Not everyone did the whole distance. #blistered feet
Very proud of the kids (and Mirjam of course)
Today something did

Great collaboration

I think it makes perfect sense that these two companies share a building.
Anybody wanna guess where we are?

Sunny coastal walk with views

Perfectly clear skies with views as far as the Lake District and Isle of Man. We saw rain all around us, but walked in the sunshine all the way.
Transfer day

From the Scottish South Coast to Yorkshire Dales.
Back to England, but not without a last stop to the first house in Scotland (or last for where we came from, I guess) and a Scottish breakfast.
Mountain view jacuzzi
