    Picked up the camper

    After a stop at a friend in Stuttgart we picked up our camper for the next 17 nights. Now time to get some fuel in us in the restaurant 'Golden M' and then sleep here in München so that we can decide tomorrow by daylight what we want to start with.Read more

    Our camper

    Let us introduce our home for the next 17 nights. I actually booked one without a moving roof and without kitchen, but we got one with all of that, so a bit more luxury for us. We sleept the first night in the roof and it was perfect.
    Unfortunately there was no manual how to get it all working so it was a lot of try and error and not finding things, but we managed. Iris found out how the cooking pit worked and meanwhile Julia packed the whole car🤣 teamwork makes the dream work:)    Read more

    As Julia found out two days ago that she has to give a presentation for her master today we had a few managing skills to activate. But ofcourse everything worked out perfectly well. We are now at a lake where Julia is checking her presentation for the last time and Iris is reading and chilling.
    In the afternoon we can use the home of a friend for internet for the presentation and after that we will travel to Julias grandma:)    Read more

    Short stop at home

    And then we are back home. Short before we left we made an offer on an house we wanted to buy, and shortly after we left we got the news that it got accepted! Meaning we had to arrange all the paperwork for the financial part and that was all at home. So we made the decision to drive back so we could do all that and then still enjoy 2 weeks holiday without the stress of knowing we still need to do that.Read more

    A day at the Bodensee

    Today we spended an easy day at the Bodensee. First breakfast (with a curious duck), then a walk along the water (I walked along, Julia walked into the rocks inside the water) to a castle which we could climb up for a nice view.
    When we went back on the road to a nice swimming spot, we saw a Zeppelin, no visit to Friedrichshafen without a zeppelin ofcourse. After that we drove to castle Neuschwanstein which we want to visit tomorrow. But first, a night with a lovely view at the castle:)    Read more

    Rainy day

    We tried to buy tickets for the castle Neuschwanstein, but it was already sold out before the ticket center even opened. So we went to the castle where king Ludwig grew up, castle hohenschwangau. We had an almost private tour, really nice!
    After that we decided to go to the Thermen as it should be raining all day long. A perfect choice and we stayed there untill after dinner.    Read more

    Today then again a visit to kind Ludwig. Now to one of his other castles, the one that is finished! Again a tour and then a nice walk through the Garten (huge!!)

    Eibsee

    No rain anymore today so we decided to take a walk around the Eibsee. It was a bit cold to sit down, but as long as we kept on walking it was really nice! And then a well deserved warm coffee after:)

    Walking day

    Today we wanted to do the 'Partnachklamm', a canyon close to where we spended the night. We left around 8:45 for a 30 min walk before we reached the entrance. In there its crazy how the water made a way through the rocks/walls and it was spectaculair to see and walk through.
    At the end of the canyon we decided to walk a bit further because it was not so long and the weather turned out to be really nice, fully blue sky but not too hot.
    In ended up in a walk up the mountain with a beautiful view, from the highest mountain of Germany, the Zugspitze.
    We eat a Kaiserschmarrn up there and then walked back down. In the afternoon we relaxed in the camper and had an easy evening.    Read more

    River, mountain und lake

    We started the day at the Isar, where we relaxed in the sun and dipped our toes in the water (crazy cold). Then we drove to a mountain which we climbed up and enjoyed the view with an ice:) Then we drove to the lake we saw from up the mountain, had dinner there and then jumped into the lake to wash off the sweat from the walk.     Castle Herrenchiemsee

    We drove to the Chiemsee and spended the day on the Island around one of the castles from King Ludwig II, Castle Herrenchiemsee. We had a tour at 13:50 and walked around in the morning with lovely sunny weather. We are now almost professionals when it comes to the life of King Ludwig II;)
    In the evening we played some games near the lake and had pizza for dinner:) again a perfect holiday feeling.    Read more

    Lazy day at the lake

    Today we (Iris) decided to take a lazy day at the lake. We bought some vegetables, fruits and nuts in the supermarkt and spended the day laying around, swimming, playing games and snacking. Julia found it boring, Iris great ;)
    Tonight we will drive to München, and tomorrow we will be spending the day in the castle where King Ludwig II was born, to become even more professionals!    Read more

    Castle nympfenburg + Oktoberfest

    Today the last day with the camper. We visited castle Nympfenburg, and the big garden with a lot of other buildings. After that we visited the Oktoberfest which is going on in München right now, it was crazy how many people and how big that was!! And we were one of the few without the dresscode...
    Right now we finished where we started, at the Golden M restaurant with an ice cream! Tomorrow morning we have to bring the camper back and then we drive back home. We look forward to our own bed and shower:)    Read more
