Day 22c. Bellagio to Como, Lake ComoAugust 26, 2019 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C
Having completed a brief tour of Bellagio our weary bodies started slowing down. At about 4:15 we looked into the ferry options back to Como only to discover that the fast ferry at 4:30 still took an hour but was booked out. The slow ferry leaving at 4.50 took 2 hours so we took that option. The thought of a slow cruise along the lake looking at the shore on both sides in airconditioned luxury sounded pretty good.
The left side facing south was much more rugged while the right was almost a continuous steam of small or medium sized villages. Lots had old stone walls and bridges, with narrow roads and tiny peers. The hillsides were very steep and houses only populated the lower 20%.
The 2 hours quickly evaporated. We walked back to our room ready for showers and a night in. Fortunately we had cold beer and food in our fridge.Read more
