Apparently the volcano has been putting on quite a show. I saw pictures of it from yesterday, and there was a lot of fire and smoke. But the clouds are obscuring it today.

Went on a hike today organized by the school to a mountain called Indian's Nose. Fantastic views of the lake from up top.

They describe the marvelous ruins there and at Lake Tikal. I didn't realize Lake Tikal is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the largest and most impressive archaeological sites and urban centers of the re-Columbian Maya civilizations .
