• Land’s End

    6. Juni in Kanada ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Today we walked the trail to see the lighthouse at the Land’s End. The view of the Atlantic Ocean and deep woods along the trail was spectacular.

The Gaspé Peninsula (or Péninsule de la Gaspésie in French) is a large peninsula in eastern Québec jutting out into the Gulf of St Lawrence. (…omitted…) The name Gaspé probably derives from a Mi’kmaq (native residents of 16th century) word meaning "land's end." There is a lighthouse on top of the hill, and the Land’s End sign is planted at the very tip of Gaspé Peninsula. From the parking area it is about a 8.5km round trip walking path with moderate hilly sections. The last stretch from lighthouse to the Land’s End sign is a bit challenging with some steep slopes.
